Apple’s Fifth Generation iPod with video (MA002LL/A) features a 2.5-inch QVGA 260,000 color LCD display and was Apple’s first attempt at the portable video market. The 5G iPod comes in 30GB or 60GB (4200RPM) configurations that hold up to 7,500 or 15,000 songs respectively and can hold up to 1000 or 2000 4 minute videos (in H.264 750-Kbps video with 128-Kbps audio). Both configurations come in either white or black with front casing with a chromed stainless steel back.
The iPod 5G can display most photos transferred directly from a digital camera using the iPod Camera Connector. These photos can be viewed on the internal display or a television using the AV cable or the Universal Dock ($39). Apple reports the 30GB model provides up to 14 hours of music playback, 3 hours of slideshow with music, and 2 hours of video playback while the 60GB configuration provides up to 20 hours of music playback, 4 hours of slideshows with music and 3 hours of video playback.
