The 8GB and 16GB iPod nano 4G (MB598LL/A) was released in response to the under-acceptance of the “fat” nano. The new wraparound curved aluminum and glass case offered in silver, black, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, and Special Edition RED and feature a 2 inch LCD display. The 4G is capable of holding 2000 or 4000 songs, 7000 or 14,000 videos, and 8 hours or 16 hours of video (in H.264 750-Kbps video with 128-Kbps audio).
Some upgrades were made to the 4G nanos including a built-in accelerometer that automatically switches to portrait or landscape mode according to the iPods orientation, genius mode that creates playlists based upon songs that go together, and the ability to shake the iPod to shuffle the songs.
