The MacBook Air family is a line of Apple ultraportable Macintosh notebook computers. These computers feature a one piece aluminum razor thin casing and do not include an apical drive to save space and weight. This MacBook Air (MC503LL/A) features a 1.86 GHz Intel "Core 2 Duo" processor (SL9400) with two independent processor "cores" on a single chip with a 6 MB on-chip shared level 2 cache running on a 1066 MHz frontside bus and 2 GB of onboard 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM (which only could be upgraded to 2 GB of onboard 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM (which only could be upgraded to 4 GB at the time of purchase), 128 GB or 256 GB of flash storage, a NVIDIA GeForce 320M "graphics processor with 256 MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory", an integrated "FaceTime" video camera & a a non-backlit full-size keyboard. The solid aluminum casing houses a 13.3" widescreen TFT LED backlit active-matrix "glossy" display (1440x900 native resolution). Connectivity includes AirPort Extreme (802.11a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, an SD card slot, dual USB 2.0 ports, analog audio out, and video out capabilities (Mini DisplayPort) that support an external 30" display. It lacks internal Ethernet (an external adapter was available as a US$29 upgrade) and lacks Firewire and optical audio in/out as well.
