iPhone 4 - MC676LL/A* - iPhone3,3 - A1349 - 2422
The CDMA iPhone 4 is the 4th generation Apple iPhone and the first to utilize a CDMA chip which allows it to work on the Verizon or Sprint Network.
The exterior of the iPhone 4 was designed with a glass LCD and glass rear casing held together with a stainless steel band. The band was specially forged to be 5 times stronger than stainless steel, providing the rigidity and strength, while keeping the iPhone 4 ultra thin at 9.3mm (24% thinner than the previous iPhone 3GS). The glass covers for the iPhone 4 were created from aluminosilicate glass, which is of superior strength to standard glass and used on other applications such as high-speed trains and helicopter windshields.
The LCD Screen on the iPhone 4, dubbed the retina display, was upgraded to 960 x 640 pixel resolution and 326 ppi, effectively better than the human eye can see!
The Verizon iPhone 4 utilizes the new A4 processor, first used in the Apple iPad. The A4 chip and the upgraded 512MB of RAM, provides the ability to multi-task, allowing the user to run multiple apps in the background. The user can play Pandora app, while writing an email for instance.
The Verizon iPhone 4 camera has a 5.0-megapixel lens with an LED flash. The LED flash works in both photo and video modes. Video now records at 720p high-definition for improved clarity. Not only can you utilize the rear camera, but the iPhone 4 offers a front facing camera intended for video calls, dubbed "FaceTime", which provides a unique experience to video chat face to face with other iPhone 4 users over any Wi-Fi network.
Wi-Fi speeds in the iPhone 4 are also increased with a new, faster 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi chip. Battery life is also improved to provide 14 hours talk time on 2G, 7 hours talk time on 3G, 40 hours of audio playback, 10 hours of video playback, 6 hours Internet on 3G and 10 hours of Internet on Wi-Fi. The iPhone 4 is rated for 300 hours in standby mode.
Apple has recently added some new features to the iPhone 4 with the iOS 4.2.1 update. The two biggest new features, AirPrint and AirPlay, are great reasons to upgrade now to a new iPhone 4.
Airprint allows your iPhone to print wirelessly. You need to have an AirPrint-enabled printer or download a third-party app for your Mac to set it up, such as FingerPrint (http://www.collobos.com/) or Printopia (http://www.ecamm.com/mac/printopia/).
AirPlay provides live streaming capability from your iPhone 4. You can stream movies, music, and photos from to your Apple TV or Apple iPad. And if you add an Apple Airport Express, you can connect any speakers and stream to them wirelessly.
